Hayward Releases Important Announcement On VGB Drain Cover Non-Compliance

Hayward Pool Products released a very important announcement expressing their concern over the installation of mismatched or non-Hayward drain covers on Hayward frames and/or sumps. Any pool builder, installer, or service personnel that are doing such should be aware that they are not in compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Safety Act.
Likewise, installing a Hayward drain cover on a non-Hayward frame and/or sump is also not in compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act. Consequently, anyone not adhering to the standards as described in the Act may be held responsible for any liabilities associated with entrapment dangers created due to misfit and/or inferior, non-compliant fastening systems.
